Arizona IANDS

Arizona Chapter of the International Association for Near-Death Studies

Mission

"Bring together a local community that listens and shares the evidence for the universal nature of a loving consciousness that includes us all."

The "Benign Virus"

Dr. Kenneth Ring, a psychologist and IANDS founder, created this term to describe how "exposure to the subject" produces transformational effects similar to those experienced by near-death experiencers themselves.

Research-Backed Transformations

Nearly four decades of research show that learning about near-death and comparable experiences produces five positive changes:

  1. Reduced fear of death
  2. Decreased materialism; increased altruism regarding time and resources
  3. Enhanced compassion and love
  4. Greater sensitivity to behavioral consequences on others
  5. Increased spirituality; reduced dogmatic religious or atheistic thinking
